The Hope of Easter

“If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” The Resurrection above all constitutes the confirmation of all Christ’s works and teachings. All truths, even those most inaccessible to human reason, find their justification if Christ by his Resurrection has given the definitive proof of his divine authority, which he had promised. – The Catechism of the Catholic Church, para 651.

The fulfillment of all the Biblical promises was consummated by Christ’s resurrection. The very basis of the validity of our faith in the Messiah hung in the balance one Sunday morning 2000 years ago… But the stone was moved and the tomb was empty!

May we have the hope that Easter is meant to bring us – a new life! An aspect of the Paschal Mystery is revealed to us. By adoptive filiation, we share in the real life of God’s Son. Christ’s resurrection is giving us the hope that one day a new life will be given to our bodies and that we will share in His resurrection.

This Easter, let us renew our hope and refresh our souls in the promise that it brings.

May the light of a million mornings dawn in us all!

Have a blessed week, Mark. I’ll be out the whole week hopefully to bask in His presence. Thank you for sharing your Easter reflection….

…..and for posting Regine’s video here. Fan ako niyan hahaha.

Have a blessed week din Miss N… To be consistent with the Proudly Pinoy logo, so I posted this video… :)

Because of His atonement, na-overcome ang physical death dahil lahat tayo ay magkakamit ng resurrection one day.

:) This song is one of the most difficult songs ever written dahil sa required range niya… And usually operatic/choral sopranos tackle this song in head tones… But Regine did it in full voice, chest. While searching for similar videos, I also saw one of her older renditions (sabi dun sa mga nagcomment sa video, 22years old pa lang daw siya dun). The video here was taken sa isang concert para sa Bantay Bata – late 90′s, early 2000s. Ang nangyari sa ending, she opted to hit the final note and modulated to the lower notes… Yung performance nya noong 22 pa lang sya, she sustained the last note for several seconds… :) Anyways, I still find both to be equally compelling performances due to the difficulty of the song.

Tama ka sa pagkakatulad natin…. And I commend you for always taking the ecumenical ground… When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, that one infinite act open the gates of heaven for God’s immeasurable mercy. Dahil dito, salvation became open for all those who decide to accept it, to work for it and to continue to hope for it…. :)

    God bless you always… :)
