For the Coffee Table Book – Issue #1

For years now, I have captured many, many images on film during my short travels. Some of them, while not well within my standards, have this factor of amusingness. Some do convey something about the Filipino culture. Some do declare issues.

Every picture has a story to tell, but there are pictures that narrate more worthwhile stories. Let’s allow them to do so… So, from time to time, I’ll be posting images that fit into this category.

For the maiden issue, I present Gaisano Sta. Rosa…

Gaisano is one of the largest chain of stores and malls in the country. Sta. Rosa is a baranggay in the bird sanctuary island of Olango, Cebu. I was surprised and delighted that a branch of this large store chain sprouted in this part of the island.

Special thanks to DFish for the idea on this series.

Hahahaha. Hindi ko mapigilan tumawa! Laking Gaisano ako – Metro, South, Gazini. Tapos ito ang bubungad sa akin.

Ako rin laking Gaisano at Lopue’s… :) I saw this when the motorcycle that we were riding on stopped for gasoline… And then I made a snapshot… :)

    OMG! theriously! hahahahha

i remember my birthplace Ozamiz. Gaisano is a by-word for mall. well technically, the only mall in the place. there are others who are not that huge who seems like a sari sari store…

this if true, may be an evidence of the economic recession! hahahah :D

Hehe… I doubt if the Gaisano chain is ever aware of this “branch”… :)

Haha! I grew with Peewee, Cheez It and Rain Bee… But the ones I fondly remember are Dakuykoy and Cheese Dog.

Kakatuwa naman yung Food Section at Non-food Section! Hahaha..

hehehehe, i have to read your post again and again Mark despite being short and look at the picture again and again to convince me that it is indeed Gaisano, hahahaha!!!!

At least they have food and non-food section, o di ba?

Miss Beth, that’s just a marketing ploy from the store’s owner… :) Gaisano really had no part in this… :)

  8. February 9, 2009 at 7:22 am

looking forward to your future “funny picture” posts!

Wala siyang basement parking kasi “shanty mode” yung architectural design niya… :)
